Frequently Asked Questions
The AAC SIG is run by a committee of volunteers and while we try our best to put as much information as we can on the website and answer emails with questions we don’t always cover it all or do it quick enough. So here are some answers to our most frequently asked questions. We hope they help! If you can’t find an answer below please email info@aacsig.org.uk.
How do I sign up for the AAC SIG?
It’s easy! just click the Join Us button at the top of this page and pay with a credit or debit card. For £10 a year you get to attend all three online Study Days and unlimited access to our video archive of previous Study Days.
If you have to pay by invoice or BACS (please only do this as a last resort!) please email finance@aacsig.org.uk
Do I need to sign up for each Study Day?
Nope! All current AAC SIG members get automatic entry to our virtual Study Days. Keep an eye out on our website, Facebook and Twitter/X accounts for announcements. We’ll also send you an email …check spam, sometimes it ends up there!
Where can I find the link to the Study Day Zoom Room?
We will post a link in the Members Area of the website at least 48 hours before the Study Day. If you follow us on Facebook or Twitter/X we usually let people know when the link is up. We will also send you an email … check spam, sometimes it ends up there!
Can I dip in and out of the Study Day or leave early?
Absolutely! Come and go as you like. You can catch up via the Members Area video archive later.
I can’t make the Study Day. Will it be recorded?
Most of the time! We ask all our presenters for permission to record their sessions. Every once in a while some one will ask that we do not, in which case we will let our AAC SIG members know when we share the agenda so they can try to be there live. We also have been asked to take recordings down from the archive after a certain length of time. Again, we we will let our AAC SIG members know via the website and email.
My credit card isn’t working when I try to sign up. What should I do?
Sometimes our members experience this issue when they renew their membership. Usually the problem is that you saved card information to your account last time you joined. Deleting it from your account usually works. To do this first log into your account, then click on these:
Account
Account Settings
Payment
Click on the card
Delete Payment Method
After you’ve done that try registering again. If it still doesn’t work please email finance@aacsig.org.uk
Can I change the email address linked to my AAC SIG membership?
Sure! You can change the email address associated with your account by logging into the AAC SIG website and then go to
Account
Account Settings
Profile
This will also update the email address on our mailing list.
